  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tbsp sweet dill relish
  • Pickled Onions:
  • 1 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 parts white vinegar
  • 1 part water
  • 1 tsp seasoning of choice (sugar or a pickling spice blend)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Pickled Onions:
  • Combine vinegar, water, and seasoning in a bowl or jar. Add the sliced onions and let them sit for at least 15 minutes while you prepare the rest of the meal.
  • Toast the Buns:
  • Spread butter on the inside of the buns and toast them in a skillet or toaster until golden brown. Set aside.
  • Cook the Bacon:
  • Fry the bacon in a skillet or bake it in the oven until crispy. Drain on paper towels and set aside.
  • Cook the Burger Patties:
  • Divide the ground beef into six thin patties. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  • Cook the patties over high heat in a skillet for about 4โ€“5 minutes per side for medium doneness, pressing occasionally for even cooking.
  • Place a slice of Havarti cheese on each patty in the final moments of cooking to let it melt.
  • Make the Sunny-Side-Up Eggs:
  • In the same skillet, cook the eggs gently until the whites are set but the yolks remain runny.
  • Caramelize the Burger Buns (Optional):
  • Sprinkle a pinch of sugar on the toasted buns. Use a kitchen torch or broiler to caramelize the sugar until golden brown.
  • Assemble the Burgers:
  • Start with the bottom bun and layer in this order:
