Description

  • Learn how to make Sesame-Crusted Chicken Potstickers with Sticky Pomegranate Sauce for a perfect, flavorful dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Potstickers:
  • 1 lb ground chicken, turkey, or pork
  • 1 cup shredded kale
  • 1-inch piece of fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 garlic cloves, grated
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 carrots, shredded
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tsp sesame oil (plus more for cooking)
  • A pinch of black pepper
  • 40 round wonton wrappers
  • 1/3 cup sesame seeds
  • For the Sticky Pomegranate Sauce:
  • 1/2 cup sweet Thai chili sauce
  • 1/4 cup pomegranate juice
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup fresh pomegranate seeds

Instructions

  • Prepare the Filling
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the ground meat, kale, ginger, garlic, green onions, carrots, soy sauce, sesame oil, and a pinch of black pepper. Mix well until evenly combined.
  • Assemble the Potstickers
  • Lay out one wonton wrapper at a time. Place a tablespoon of the filling in the center of the wrapper. Brush water along the edges of the wrapper, then fold it over the filling to form a half-moon shape. Press the edges together tightly to seal. Repeat with the remaining wrappers.
  • Coat with Sesame Seeds
  • Place the sesame seeds in a shallow bowl. Lightly brush the bottom of each potsticker with water, then dip into the sesame seeds to coat.
  • Cook the Potstickers
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a few tablespoons of sesame oil. Once the oil is hot, arrange the potstickers in the skillet, sesame-side down. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the bottoms are golden. Carefully add 1/4 cup water to the skillet (it may splatter, so step back), then cover immediately. Reduce the heat to medium-low and let the potstickers steam for 5-6 minutes or until the filling is fully cooked.
  • Make the Sauce
  • In a bowl, stir together the chili sauce, pomegranate juice, soy sauce, and pomegranate seeds. Serve the sauce on the side as a dip for the potstickers.
  • Notes
  • These potstickers are a perfect blend of crispy sesame crunch and juicy, flavorful filling. Pair them with the tangy-sweet sauce for an irresistible appetizer or main dish!
