Description

  • Enjoy crispy fried cauliflower bites with spicy buffalo sauce—perfect for any occasion! A flavorful, vegetarian snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Cauliflower Bites:
  • 1 head cauliflower, broken into florets
  • 2 eggs (or flax egg for a vegan option)
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon cracked black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Vegetable oil (for frying, about 3 inches of oil)
  • For the Buffalo Sauce:
  • 1/4 cup salted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 cup hot sauce (any preferred variety)
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon cracked black pepper
  • For Garnish:
  • Crumbled Gorgonzola cheese
  • Sliced green onion
  • Shredded celery

Instructions

  • Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or pot to 325°F. Prepare a cooling rack lined with paper towels to drain the fried cauliflower.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs and 2 teaspoons of water. In a separate bowl or large Ziplock bag, mix all the dry ingredients: flour, cayenne pepper, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  • Dip each cauliflower floret into the flour mixture, ensuring it’s fully coated. Then, dip the florets into the egg wash, coat thoroughly, and return them to the flour mixture for a second coating.
  • Fry the cauliflower in small batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes, then remove and place on the prepared paper towels. Let rest for one minute, then return the cauliflower to the hot oil for another 1-2 minutes for extra crispiness.
  • While the cauliflower fries, prepare the buffalo sauce. In a large bowl, mix together melted butter, cayenne pepper, hot sauce, sriracha, honey, and black pepper.
  • Once the cauliflower is crispy and golden, toss it in the buffalo sauce, ensuring each piece is well coated. Serve immediately and garnish with crumbled Gorgonzola, sliced green onions, and shredded celery.
  • Details: These crispy fried cauliflower bites are perfectly coated in a spicy buffalo sauce, offering a great combination of crunch and flavor. They make a fantastic appetizer or snack that will satisfy any craving for bold, spicy food.
