Tips and Variations

Beef Options

If you can’t find thinly sliced ribeye or sirloin, you can use other cuts of beef like flank steak or even ground beef for a different texture.

Vegetable Variations

Feel free to add other vegetables such as mushrooms, red bell peppers, or even spinach for added flavor and nutrition.

Cheese Swaps

While provolone is traditional, you can substitute with other melting cheeses like mozzarella or even a sharp cheddar for a different flavor profile.

Storing Leftovers

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. To reheat, simply warm on the stovetop over medium heat, stirring occasionally until heated through.

Pairing Suggestions

Pair this rich and creamy dish with a simple green salad to balance the flavors. A glass of red wine, such as Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon, complements the hearty cheesesteak elements. For non-alcoholic options, try a sparkling water with a hint of lime or a classic iced tea.

  1. My finished meal looked nothing like yours. It was okay. There was absolutely no flavor and the cheese sauce was more like melted cheese than a “sauce”. If I ever made it again I would definitely season the meat before cooking as well as adding sautéed garlic. We did add mushrooms as well.
