- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- 12 slices Havarti cheese
- For the Garlic Butter Bread:
- ยผ cup butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons parsley, minced
- 12 slices sourdough or sturdy white bread
Instructions
- Prepare the BBQ Chicken:
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add onions and cook until soft, about 2 minutes.
- Stir in garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Mix in the shredded chicken, paprika, Worcestershire sauce, and BBQ sauce. Stir to combine and heat through for about 2-3 minutes.
- Make the Garlic Butter Bread:
- In a medium bowl, combine butter, garlic, and parsley. Microwave until the butter is melted.
- Lay out 12 slices of bread on a work surface and evenly spread the melted butter mixture on each slice.
- Assemble and Cook the Sandwiches:
- Turn each slice of bread over so the buttered side is down. On 6 of these slices, layer a slice of Havarti cheese, followed by an even distribution of the BBQ chicken mixture, and another slice of cheese.
- Top with the remaining bread slices, ensuring the buttered side is facing out.
- Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat. Place the sandwiches in the skillet and cook until the bottoms are golden brown, about 3-5 minutes.
