Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Salmon
  • 5 skinless salmon fillets (about 5 oz each)
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • Salt, to taste
  • For the Lemon Butter Garlic Sauce
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • 1½ tablespoons garlic, minced
  • ½ cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)
  • 12 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • Lemon slices, for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F and position the rack in the center.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the lemon juice, olive oil, minced garlic, and Dijon mustard. Mix well to combine.
  • Place the salmon fillets in a baking dish or skillet. Pour the lemon mixture over the fillets and rub to coat evenly. Season with salt and ground black pepper to taste.
  • Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillets, until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
  • While the salmon bakes, prepare the lemon butter garlic sauce. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium-low heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 20 seconds.
  • Stir in the heavy cream and bring it to a simmer. Allow the sauce to thicken slightly.
  • Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice, if using. Season with black pepper and salt to taste. Garnish with fresh parsley.
  • Once the salmon is done, pour the sauce over the fillets and let it rest for 5-10 minutes.
  • Serve the salmon with mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli, or your favorite sides.
