- 5 skinless salmon fillets (about 5 oz each)
- 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- Salt, to taste
- For the Lemon Butter Garlic Sauce
- ¼ cup unsalted butter
- 1½ tablespoons garlic, minced
- ½ cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)
- 1–2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice (optional)
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- Lemon slices, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F and position the rack in the center.
- In a medium bowl, combine the lemon juice, olive oil, minced garlic, and Dijon mustard. Mix well to combine.
- Place the salmon fillets in a baking dish or skillet. Pour the lemon mixture over the fillets and rub to coat evenly. Season with salt and ground black pepper to taste.
- Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillets, until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
- While the salmon bakes, prepare the lemon butter garlic sauce. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium-low heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 20 seconds.
- Stir in the heavy cream and bring it to a simmer. Allow the sauce to thicken slightly.
- Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice, if using. Season with black pepper and salt to taste. Garnish with fresh parsley.
- Once the salmon is done, pour the sauce over the fillets and let it rest for 5-10 minutes.
